Pix
Pix is an instant electronic payment method offered by the Central Bank of Brazil to individuals and businesses. Mercado Pago Pix is an application that lets you receive payments via QR code or by using the Pix "Copy and Paste" feature. This option guarantees immediate transaction approval and offers the lowest fee for receiving payments.
You can install Mercado Pago Pix through the Shopify panel or via the Marketplace, choose the option that best fits your needs.
You can install the Mercado Pago Pix app from your Shopify admin panel. To do so, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Shopify store with your credentials.
- In the admin panel, click Settings located in the bottom-left corner of the page.
- From the left menu, select Payments.
- Under Accepted payment methods, click Add payment method.
- Go to the Search by provider tab and search for "Mercado Pago Pix".
- Select the app and click Install.
- Carefully review the requested permissions and click Install again.
The app will be successfully installed from the Shopify panel. To finish linking your store with your Mercado Pago account, follow the instructions in the "Configure Pix from Mercado Pago" section.
Once the app is installed, you need to link your Shopify store with your Mercado Pago account. This step ensures Pix payments are processed securely.
Follow these steps:
- Within the Mercado Pago Pix Settings in Shopify, click Manage account to access Mercado Pago and start the linking process.
- In the Mercado Pago admin panel in Shopify, click Start linking to begin the process. If you are already logged in, skip this step.
- Choose the Mercado Pago account you want to link to the store:
- My Mercado Pago account: Select this option if you are the store owner.
- Another person's account: Select this option if you are a developer and are implementing this solution for a third party.
- Click Link account and accept the requested permissions for Mercado Pago to process payments securely and integrated. The linking will be executed automatically and may take a few seconds.
- After linking, register the Pix key you created earlier by clicking Register Pix key.
- Once registered, click Activate app.
- Click Go to settings to return to the Shopify panel.
- In Shopify, go to Settings > Payments and click Activate to enable Mercado Pago Pix.
With this, the app will be installed and ready to receive payments directly to your Mercado Pago account.
With this configuration you can define how Pix will appear in your checkout. You can decide whether buyers complete their payment on an external Pix page (redirect) or stay within your store's checkout (modal).
Steps:
- In Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
- Locate and select the Mercado Pago Pix app.
- On the next screen, click More actions > Manage to access the Mercado Pago admin panel in Shopify.
- Locate Mercado Pago Pix and click Configure.
On the configuration page, choose the payment experience you want to offer:

- Click Save and with this, the Mercado Pago Pix configuration in your store is complete.
